Multi-slide systems can be fabricated with either aluminum clad or non-clad wood panels. Unlike Bi-Fold systems, Multi-Slide systems present a staggered or stepped appearance when closed. Standard panels have wide wide (~ 4 1/2″) stiles & top rail with a taller (8″, 10″ or 12″ ) bottom rails for a beautiful, warm, traditional appearance. These systems are also offered with narrower stile & rail (~ 2 3/4″) panels which maximize glass area for a more contemporary appearance. These systems can be configured to slide in one direction only or to part in the middle and slide in both directions or they can be configured to meet at a 90° corner. Multi-slide systems can be configured with one or two pockets into which the panels disappear from view when fully open or the if space is limited, the movable panels can simply park behind a stationary panel. Multi-slide systems can also be automated to silently open and close at the touch of a button or remote.
The door panels used in all Vista Pointe Bi-Fold and Multi-Slide systems, come standard with Low E tempered dual insulating glass. The panels are constructed of engineered LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) cores to enhance structural rigidity and stability.
Vista Pointe lift-slide doors glide effortlessly from either the middle or one side to present a sweeping, broad panorama. The unique Lift-Slide mechanism allows you to raise and lower each panel by moving its handle through a 180° arc. When raised, the panel rolls effortlessly. When lowered, the panel parks securely in place and engages the weatherstripping for outstanding weather resistance.
Open a wall from 3 feet to 25 feet or more and from 6 feet 8 inches to 10 feet high. We can help you achieve the look and access you want with a single panel pocket door to an 8-panel systems. We even offer a 90° corner system with or without a structural column at the corner.
We offer a standard flush sill that “disappears” into the surrounding floor or a WeatherTrak™ sill for wet weather environments. The exterior surfaces of the system are clad in heavy-duty extruded aluminum, rather than less substantial, roll-formed aluminum. Vista Pointe also uses Stainless Steel lift-slide hardware as a standard feature.
Bi-Fold systems, sometimes referred to as “accordion” doors are available in a number of configurations with the option of including a daily-use door; a door that can be used for ingress/egress without the need of folding or disturbing the rest of the doors in the system. Vista Pointe’s Bi-Fold systems are fabricated using clad or non-clad wood door panels, and offer excellent resistance to airflow and water thanks to the weatherstripped stepped sill design. Vista Pointe’s standard Bi-Fold sill is the Outswing stepped with Inswing stepped, Flush Channel and ADA sills offered as available options. Bi-Fold systems present a completely flat (in-plane) surface when completely closed. When open, the panels fold against one another and can be configured to fold in one or both directions. The folded panels project at 90° to the plane of the opening when completely open. For clad systems, Vista Pointe uses color matched clad extrusions supplied by the door manufacturer to clad all exterior frame & top track surfaces to exactly match the color & profile of the clad door panels used in the system. For all wood (non-clad systems) the jambs and top track are veneered to match the door panels. Other features of the bifold system include sizes up to 25 ft wide (in each direction) x 10 ft high with individual panel widths of up to 39″.
