Bi-Fold systems, sometimes referred to as “accordion” doors are available in a number of configurations with the option of including a daily-use door; a door that can be used for ingress/egress without the need of folding or disturbing the rest of the doors in the system. Vista Pointe’s Bi-Fold systems are fabricated using clad or non-clad wood door panels, and offer excellent resistance to airflow and water thanks to the weatherstripped stepped sill design. Vista Pointe’s standard Bi-Fold sill is the Outswing stepped with Inswing stepped, Flush Channel and ADA sills offered as available options. Bi-Fold systems present a completely flat (in-plane) surface when completely closed. When open, the panels fold against one another and can be configured to fold in one or both directions. The folded panels project at 90° to the plane of the opening when completely open. For clad systems, Vista Pointe uses color matched clad extrusions supplied by the door manufacturer to clad all exterior frame & top track surfaces to exactly match the color & profile of the clad door panels used in the system. For all wood (non-clad systems) the jambs and top track are veneered to match the door panels. Other features of the bifold system include sizes up to 25 ft wide (in each direction) x 10 ft high with individual panel widths of up to 39″.
The door panels used in all Vista Pointe Bi-Fold and Multi-Slide systems, come standard with Low E tempered dual insulating glass. The panels are constructed of engineered LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) cores to enhance structural rigidity and stability.
